Excellent solution for slippery steps

Easy to install, made a huge difference in traction. I was a bit skeptical because these are plastic and not rubber but they work really well. I like the wide width, I put two on each step to cover almost the whole length of the stair.

Step Safety

I have had these before and they were great. My mailman had come to the door to ask that I take care of the ice on the front see. I got these and even if no one could get out to sweep, at least no one was going to fall. These smaller ones were for the back wood steps, and had to get this size and the larger width did not fit. I also like the colour which blended in with the unfinished wood. Now the problem....any size. The screws are WAY TOO SHORT. They were spinning as they were too short to get a grip in the wood. This should really be rectified. Secondly, the 3.2" lift at the corners and don't look "clean" because of it, as well as being a safety hazard.

Thanks for the feeback, the screws are a number 8 X 9/16 of an inch, we recently increased to 5/8th of an inch. We've been manufacturing for more than 15 years and never had an issue with the screws. The wood might have been rotten, the strips are only about 1/8th of an inch thick and have slotted holes that the screws sit into leaving plenty of screw to penetrate the wood securely.
The strips should be secured to a flat surface and always lay flat. There should be no lifting whatsoever with proper installation. The product has been spec'd by engineers and does not pose a safety hazard.

Very good

Just one thing…longer screws would be a good thing.

It’s early yet but I think these are going to work just fine. I got them to add to our pressure treated deck that gets super slippery during frosty and/or snowy winter days. The only thing I’m not sure of is whether my snow shovelling will knock them out of place. The screws that come with them could be a tad longer in my opinion.
